CORNELISLAND AIMS FOR LONGTERM SUSTAINABILITY
Ridderkerk traditionally depended on the maritime economy with the Nieuwe Maas and Noord just around the corner. However it was decided to diversify in the 1980’s. The Cornelisland business park covers more than 25 hectares and is centrally situated next to the A15. The municipality aims for long term sustainability. A budget has been set aside for businesses who want to innovate with respect to the environment and recycling. This can be used for example for sustainable new developments or optimising production processes.
Businesses are offered a ‘sustainability scan’ to provide insight into their processes and opening up opportunities for operating their businesses while taking account of people and the environment. The aim is to eventually make Cornelisland synonymous with a sustainable business park. DHG fits in seamlessly here with its innovation and high-end SMARTLOGS.
